Gillian is in much demand in the media for her humorous, straightforward style and tell-it-like-it-is attitude. As the most experienced, and popular, dog training school in the GTA…Who’s Walking Who is often called upon for articles and quotes for magazines and papers including The Toronto Star, Toronto Life magazine, Chatelaine magazine, Canadian Living magazine, Owl magazine and the Toronto Sun, just to name a few.

  • Dogs, Dogs, Dogs magazine – Gillian has been consultant and feature writer for this award winning paper since 1994.   • Citizen Canine – This book on practical advice to living with dogs in the real world is written by Gillian and Kathryn Harvey. After noticing many dog training books providing only some of the information much craved by dog owners, Gillian and Kathryn decided to bring their knowledge and advice to the forefront. This book encompasses everything needed by all puppy and dog owners.   • Dogs TV– This Television show was featured each week on CH and Prime from January 2003 until January 2004. The show included dog-related issues such as grooming and health and had a breed of the week. Gillian was the trainer picked to open the show with a weekly segment on various dog training and handling issues. It has now been picked up and is being shown in parts of Europe and in Hungary. You can catch the show these days in reruns on Access,The Learning Channel and The Pet Network..

  • Dogs In Canada Annual – Gillian had her writing featured in the 2002 and 2003 of the Annual, doing the dog-training section. The 2004 Annual also has Gillian featured, covering prevention of dog problems. .
    Back again in the 2005 Annual, it features the popular dog-training and tricks section by Gillian, and will include Cruiser the Duck Toller, and Leap the Ibizian Hound, both staff dogs at www. While Gillian did take a breather for the 2007 Annual, she, and her English Cocker Yardley, can be seen strutting their stuff along the beach in the pages of the 2006 edition of the Annual. Along with the photo shoot with Yardley, she wrote the training section and the tricks section of the book.
    Gillian is thrilled to be asked once again to write the feature puppy training section of Dogs In Canada Annual for 2009, out on the stands now and a must read for all dog lovers


  • Dogs In Canada Monthly – Since 2002, Gillian’s column “Citizen Canine” has been featuring articles written for real people, with real dogs, in the real world. This column takes the mystery of dog training away and provides an approach that is easy to understand.

  • Wanna Play – while this children’s TV show does not feature any WWW trainers, it does star Levi, a terrier cross-owned by Gillian. Levi plays the part of the announcer “Foster Chewitt” and many children across the nation recognize her, even without her little headset on! For show times, check you local listings…or ask the kids.
  • Life With Pets – on the Life Network, this 28 part series, done in the mid 1990's had 8 episodes written by Gillian, and starred the staff and their fabulous canines. It was filmed on location in the Beaches of Toronto. It included obedience training, problem solving and Agility training.
  • MOJO Radio – Gillian has been regular guest on the Scruff Connors Show.
  • The Globe and Mail – Half page feature article dedicated to behavioral issues, featuring Gillian as main spokesperson. The #1 Radio Station in Winnipeg called upon Gillian to do a live phone in show on dog related issues after seeing this feature in the Globe and Mail.
  • Dogsport Magazine – article written by Gillian in 2002, on Canine Freestyle.
  • Animal Wellness Magazine – This North American publication has called upon Gillian for articles on Christmas Health Issues as well as for interviews on dog training issues. She answers the behavioral questions in many editions of the magazine. In 2007, she was called upon to write on Dog Sports for Animal Wellness.

  • Chews To Care National Media Campaign - Gillian was the National Spokesperson for The Chews To Care Program for the spring of 2006, promoting canine dental care. She went coast to coast on a media blitz and did live radio and TV as well as newspaper interviews from Vancouver to Ottawa. Accompanined by her terrier, Levi, the progam was a great success. And of course, Levi was a hit at all the TV studios across the country !
  • Canoe Live TV - For most of 2006, Gillian did the live phone in show, Canoe Live. This live show featured emails from viewers that were answered on air. With Yardley as her co-host, Gillian provided information in a fun and educational manner to the dog loving public.

    Dogs In Canada Web - Gillian continues her relationship with Dogs In Canada media. She can be seen as the on-line dog expert, answering readers questions about life with their dogs.
